Morel MXTC 3-way crossover. How a stereo 3-way crossover fits into a system. Get Everything You Need You'll need patch cables and power wires to connect an active crossover. Comments 72 Read comments. Trilla, All car amplifiers feature built-in crossover filters that will work to control the different frequencies going to speakers and subs.
Jim, Those speakers are designed to work best using their own built-in crossovers. Adding another crossover would just introduce distortion in the form of phase problems around the frequencies of the crossover points.
Chuck, It sounds like you're looking for AudioControl's DM processor, which features 8 inputs and 10 processed outputs. Nick, Without knowing specifically what equipment you have, I can't tell for sure, but a crossover rated for watts RMS will be safe with an amp that puts out watts RMS.
Adam, Check out How to connect an amplifier to a factory stereo for some help with that. Craig, A crossover divides the frequencies of the program played, not the power. The musical content determines where power goes - brass and cymbals will play out their power mostly through the tweeters; a kick drum's power goes out to the woofer. Jojo, Passive crossovers, like those in-line models, go between the amp and speakers.
Active crossovers, the ones that are powered, go between the stereo's line-level outputs and the amplifier inputs. Christian, The crossovers in that receiver are active. Israel, Any amplifier you get will have high-pass crossover filters built in to protect midrange speakers and tweeters. You use an amp's built-in low-pass filters for subwoofers. Frank, If I understand your setup correctly, theoretically if all crossovers are set to the same frequency, as the sound rolls down in the satellite speakers, it'll roll up in the subwoofer, with no loss anywhere.
Practically though, your Audyssey could show you otherwise. Looking for car audio crossovers? Shop our selection. The easiest way to shop car audio online Find what Fits your vehicle Remove. A: Many component systems have passive crossovers with 2- or 3-way tweeter level switches included.
Ideally, a crossover will put out the same level of signal, or volume, to the tweeter as it does to the woofer. But many people find that sounds unbalanced and too shrill and bright.
Many speaker manufacturers recognize that and put tweeter attenuators in their crossovers. Check out all our crossovers at crutchfield. I just purchased a set of component speakers. My question is my head unit has active crossover built in if I put it in network mode I can control each speaker separately. Could I use this instead of the passive crossover that came with the component?
I would like to tame down the tweeters and the passive crossover -3db is not enough for me. Would this negatively affect my tweeters or woofer's in away? It's just resistors capacitors and inductors, how is it possible to amplify?
Not sure if my previous question went through so sorry if this is a duplicate. I downloaded the instructions and they don't have any info on the crossovers that are included. It looks like all the extra connectors and brackets included are for the speaker install not the crossovers. I plan to replace the stock speakers with aftermarket speakers that match closely to the specs of the OEM speakers, but with slightly better specs. The BMW system has in it active crossover points from the stock amp So without changing out the stock amp, do I exclude the inline crossovers that come with the speakers, or is there a way to help streamline or compliment the current crossover points with them, as you can see the stock filter points have "holes" between each range?
If I put 4 ohm woofers on the 2 ohm channels, would this cause issues with the stock system so long as the speaker RMS is above the rated RMS of the channel from the amp such as heat or wear? I recently installed the morel ccwr in a accord. I am using the supplied capacitor which has an crossover point of approximately hz. I have a pioneer avhbs and have the hpf at hz 12db slope.
I've noticed that if I change the slope or lower the hpf to hz or so, it affects the sound of the morel, as if there is the capacitor was not connected. Is this normal? Is the slope from the head unit adding up with the morel capacitor slope? Is it safe to use the included crossover from a component set with only one of the components? I recently purchased a component speaker system that includes a passive crossover box but also has an "integrated crossover" built into the wires of both the tweeters and speakers.
Am I supposed to use both or are they just including both for different setups? My though was that I should only be using the passive crossover box as it seems that it would be redundant to use that as well as a built-in crossover. Just put new components in the front doors with tweeters and passive crossovers.
Bit of a newbie.. I have a pioneer headunit that has Crossover settings. Should I use these crossover settings or leave them off?? Currently do not have an amp. After completing the install on my 17 Accord im confused on how to adjust all the crossovers. The new high end Kenwood deck has xovers.
The 2 P Fosgate amps have xovers. And I have all four corners of the car with separates and passive xovers for each.
Plus the T Fosgate sub amp. With the passive xovers controlling all the separates what would be the best setting for the deck and amps xovers. And will any the audio adjustments on the deck have any affect with the passive xovers installed? I believe I made a mistake when getting speakers for my truck. I have a F and currently have a set of Hertz mille pro 2 way in the doors and also hertz tweeters in the pillars.
Is is possible for me to just switch out the 2 way speakers for just a 6. And would that speaker suppose to be in the range of hzhz? This guide will help you choose a crossover for your system, whether a 2-way passive, 3-way active, or some other type.
